Well, it's that time of the year again. Time fo r the ISFA to reopen it's doors to new students. For those of you who don't know, the ISFA is the Independant Stage Fighters Assosian. It is a class that teaches fencing and stage combat for film, theater and television. Let me explain the histroyt behind this:
For tose of you that don't know, Fencing actually is an olympic sport (just not well advertised) I have been fencing for over ten years, and actually training for the Olympics when a drunk driver decided to change those plans for me. After getting run over (I was standing by the side of the road trying to fix my mountain bike chain) at 60 MPH, I was hospitilized and when I finally recovered, I could not compete anymore, so I took what I learned and started to apply it to stage combat.
The art of Stage Combat is learning how to rtecreate the esence of a fast passed sword fight with skill, accuacy and safety. I love what I teach, and we actually do travel around quite a bit performng at Pirate Festivals and Ren Faires. If you want to leave your contact info, our office will contact you about classes
